About JAMO Juniors

James Plumridge inspired the beginning of JAMO after we tragically lost our great friend in September 2025, following his battle with mental health. His loss deeply affected everyone who knew him and sparked a determination to create something meaningful in his memory — something that could help future generations speak more openly about mental health.

JAMO Juniors was born from an idea by James’ mum, who strongly believes that mental health awareness and conversations should begin at a much earlier age. By encouraging children to talk openly about feelings, emotions, and wellbeing from a young age, we hope to help break the stigma surrounding mental health for future generations.

To launch JAMO Juniors, we held a “Design a Mental Health T-Shirt” competition with two important goals in mind. First and foremost, we wanted to encourage mental health conversations with children through creativity and self-expression as they designed their t-shirts. Secondly, the competition gave us valuable insight into the types of designs and messages young people would feel proud and comfortable wearing.

On Sunday 3rd May 2026, during a memorial football match held in honour of James, JAMO Juniors was officially introduced to the public. It was a special and emotional day that brought together family, friends, and the wider community to celebrate James’ life and continue his legacy in a positive and lasting way.

During the event, the winners of the t-shirt competition were announced and presented with professionally printed versions of their own designs. We are proud to say that all four winning designs are now available to purchase in our shop, helping to spread positive mental health messages while supporting the mission behind JAMO Juniors.

At JAMO, we believe that conversations can save lives — and every conversation has to start somewhere.
